I have tried creating a new Drupal site from a back up and I get the following error

Fatal error: Call to undefined function aggregator_category_load() in /data03/merseypf/public_html/Restore/includes/menu.inc on line 410

First thing I'd do is manually empty all cache tables in the database

I cleared out the cache and I get the same error still

When I do a normal copy of the directory and export the database into an sql dump then the rstore works fine. But we are using a back up facility on a zen Platinum server. so I think it has something to do with the way that the files are backed up.

files in drupal don't change under normal circumstances. Therefore you can take a copy of your files at any time and use them.
