It's sometimes beneficial to be able to add additional roles to existing accounts. I've added a new function to the user.inc file to handle this.

This was committed recently. See http://drupal.org/cvs?commit=181986 .

To get the latest and greatest, do a CVS checkout of the DRUPAL-6--2 tag. The install_profile_api project has been in hot development lately, so many new features haven't made it into the release.
