Default image, not Gravatar, showing in blocks

Hi there,
I can't seem to get Gravatars (instead of the default picture) to show up in blocks using Drupal 5.16 and Avatar Blocks 5.x 1-1.
Is there a setting I'm missing?
If that's not supported, any suggestions on code tweaks?
My Gravatars do show up in comments.
