Need to build site like myspace

Hi
I am searching for CMS to build a site for DJ's and Musicians .
1. I need in that site option , which by permission of admin , user will be able to create his own page (like in my space)
for example , site domain www.xyz.com , page of the user www.xyz.com/user_name or user_name.xyz.com
2. Of course for that kind of site I need rank system , I have searched here and found VotingAPI system
that works with some modules.
I found that Plus1 module will be good for me , but I need a TOP100 list of course.
Tell me please if I can use that CMS for my site , if yes , I will be happy to know which modules I need to check out and
which is stable one.

Yes you can use drupal for this. You'll want to look at the cck, views, content_profile, and user_quota or node_limit modules.

hello sir,
i am developing a solution for the school management where we will be having two groups of users - student and teachers.
1) the functionality that i want is that both of them should be able to create profiles once they log in just like in orkut.
once they sign up and log in iwant certain links in their profile like hobbies, academic info, personal info etc. on clicking these links they should get to fill up the required forms that appear for the links.
2) the students should be able to add teachers as their friends and vice versa and this friend list should show up in their profiles.
3) the users should be able to search users from any other group as well as their groups and add request for friend or simply send message to them.
4) the teachers can post thir assignment as doc file attachment in their profile which can be downloaded by the students. the students will then solve the assignment on their desktops and then send their answers again as a doc file back to the teachers as an attachment to some text message(probably split up in two or three boxes.
