The Management (or Administer) Menu is dead confusing being in the Parent Item Selection for Menu on Node Forms. It does nothing but clutter the dropdown. I Never ever added a Menu Item to the Admin section from a Node Form, and a beginner user is even less likely.
I thought I had read that during the latest Usability Testing in Baltimore a patch had gone into D7 that fixed this. Horror was big installing D7 head and still finding the admin section in the Menu selection.
I do not even find an option which menus to include in the parent item selection. This should be given so that newly created menus can be included in the menu selection.
Main Menu (formerly Primary Links) should be in there by default as the only option. It could make sense to include all user-created menus automatically.

Bojhan commentedYup, I cannot but agree with this - its a hack as we actually want to fix the selection list, but yes.

catchIs this a duplicate of #351249: Finer control over the Parent Menu select box ?

jix_ commentedDuplicate indeed. I continued the discussion in #351249: Finer control over the Parent Menu select box

kika commentedLet's keep on pushing this, it is not a duplicate, it is a simpler approach. Patch needed: nothing more but hiding "Management" menu item from node/add menu settings "Parent item".

kika commentedIn what stage it should happen? form_alter node/add form? (afaik removing items from formAPI dropdowns used to be a great pain: a mixture of objects and arrays)

kika commentedPutting this on hold, if #351249: Finer control over the Parent Menu select box gets it, it makes this approach obsoltete
