I'm using garland theme if that matters.

I activated the search module

I set the search permissions

I check the search settings.

The "search this site" function shows up on the left side bar. I want it to display on the right side bar. I looked in blocks, menu, etc, but can't find where I can change the location of the "search this site" display. Any help would be appreciated.

In Garland, at least, you need to both place a Search block in the right sidebar and disable the Search box in the Garland theme settings:

  1. Go to Administer > Site Building > Blocks.
    1. Drag the 'Search form' block up from 'Disabled' to 'Right Sidebar'.
    2. Click 'Save Blocks' at the very bottom of the page.
  2. Go to Administer > Site Building > Themes.
    1. Scroll down to Garland in the list of themes and click 'Configure'.
    2. Uncheck 'Search box'.
    3. Click 'Save configuration' at the very bottom of the page.
