Here's the chronology:

Installed twitter module on my drupal site, enabled it, configured it, started sending updates to Twitter via blog posts. Twitter then updated my Facebook status, as it had been doing before Drupal was brought into it.

The problem was that the urls generated by the Drupal post did not work. They contained characters that resulted in page not found messages when they were clicked.

Forum help pointed out the replacement url options.

I changed to using !title and !url (by the way, I have not !tinyurl replacement option, it seems to have been automatic).

Now the links work, I can see them on my twitter home page, but twitter no longer updates Facebook. I simply can't get the Facebook Twitter app to work at all. I've deleted it, reapplied it, changed passwords at both Twitter and Facebook (a shot in the dark).

I tried disabling the twitter module also, (another shot in the dark). That did not work.

I can only think the twitter app is somehow responsible.

Any help with this?

This app is a fantastic idea and would really help me if it worked as it seems to be intended to work.

Many thanks.

Further investigation reveals that the Facebook/Twitter app is on the fritz and many people are experiencing the problem described above. My apologies, but the good news is it's not the twitter module's fault.

How could I have thought so?

mea culpa.

No worries. Glad to hear we didn't break Twitter! ;-)
