Maybe I don't understand how this module is supposed to work, so please bear with me...

* Mail2Web is working nicely to allow users to respond to forum posts and comments. Great!

* But if I post a node of some content type where comments/replies are not applicable -- say, a "press release" -- if a user is subscribed to receive notifications of new posts of that type, the email includes the (((Reply ABOVE this LINE...))) line. This seems to be the case even when the person doesn't have permissions to post a comment or reply -- such as, if comments are turned off for the content type.

* What seems to be happening is that the mail2web settings are applied to all notifications. Am I missing some setup step? Couldn't find a way to, say, exclude content type "press release."

Thanks!

This is fixed in the dev versions. There is now a setting on admin/messaging/mail2web to declare upon which node types mail2web should act. There's also now a permission check to see whether the recipient even has privileges to comment. You could try the dev version, or wait for another official release. Everything should be working in the dev version. I may make a release candidate in a few weeks.

Excellent -- thanks! I'll download the dev version, then. Aside from that issue, it seems to work great.

Ian -- I can't find a dev. version for 6.x. Where is it?

Hi todd, sorry about that, the dev version for 6 did not have a release. I've just made it now. However, it probably won't be available for download for several hours.

Project: Mail to Web » Mail Comment
Version: 6.x-1.0-beta2 » 6.x-1.0-beta4

Switch to mailcomment project. Mail2web is now known as "mailcomment" due to a trademark issue with the name mail2web.
