The obvious top module version choices using update.php (Drupal 6.10) are: 5100, 6100, and 6101.

Support requested: clarification needed:
Is 6100 equivalent to (recommended) beta (6.x-1.0-beta3)?
Is 6101 is equivalent to dev (6.x-1.x-dev)?

They are not necessarily related to specific versions. When running update.php, you should not be selecting the update numbers your self unless you have a specific reason to do so. All you need to do is keep clicking the continue/update button.

The update page with all the versions says specifically:

The version of Drupal you are updating from has been automatically detected. You can select a different version, but you should not need to.

Click Update to start the update process.
