My site is running on Drupal 6.10 and Better Formats rc3.

A user role, that allows to create only a specific content type without any filter-related management access rights has "show format tips" and "show more format tips link" permissions unticked, but these tips and link are still visible.

Oh, sorry. I was in a hurry so I did only a quick test when my site user reported this issue.
It was a CCK single-line textfield. I know, this fieldtype is not supported yet.
