Currently my forum is configured to where a "New Post" graphic is only updated when somebody posts a new post to that forum. I would love to configure the Forum to where the icon would be updated to a "New Post" icon - even when somebody posts a new comment.

Is this possible?

Standard Drupal 6 forum module - along with Advanced Forum.

Just turn on the option to show new posts. It's a bit of a killer query, though, so may be slow if you have a large forum.
