I've just upgraded from alpha2 to alpha3, and the Layout Settings tab seems to have disappeared for my existing panels page. How do I edit those settings, now? Or should it still be there?

merlinofchaos commentedEverything that was on the layout settings page is now on the edit content page itself. display and panel (now region) styles have been moved into the dropdowns and the flexible settings are now visual. Press the Show Layout Designer button to enable that.

escoles commentedWow, this is all very analog. But I do see the controls, now: When the Layout Designer is displayed, clicking on the links with the downward pointing arrows pops up a pop-up menu that allows you to insert regions or columns. (Note that sometimes, particularly when a very small region is created, most of the panel is cut-off by the edge of the region.) It took me quite a while to see that, because (in Garland) there wasn't anything about the controls that made them seem to me like something I should click on. Also, behavior of the controls is difficult to divine: Sometimes "fixed" produces a tiny, fixed-width box that can't be enlarged, and sometimes it produces a region that can be enlarged. Difference between and limitations of 'regions' vs. 'columns' is unclear. Content seems to disappear sometimes when moved around.

merlinofchaos commentedCurrently there is a bug in that it doesn't behave appropriately if you add a 'fixed' item with no fluid items next to it. It takes 2 items to have a slider. I need to fix this behavior. For now it will probably just not let you add a fixed item without a fluid item (you can leave the fluid item empty) so that you have something to resize against.
