Hi
Just a question, when continues the developing of the D6 version? after alpha 4 or when a new beta comes?

vm commentedTypically not until beta's or RC's are released as things can still radically change in alpha

michelleThanks, VM, but, actually I will be makng the changeover to P3 soon. Of course, I don't recommend anyone actually use it until Panels is in beta/RC but I need to get a jump on learning it and getting everything working. I just keep having other things get in the way when I try to sit down and learn it.

bennos commentedok thx michelle.
Panels is missing for Drupal 6. I hope there will be a faster development. In the last three months there was no activity.
In September is the code freeze for D7 and some modules (like panels) have not been ported to D6. this is crazy.
Michelle your work an APK, AF and Author Pane is great. thx
Comment #4
michelleThere has been plenty of activity on Panels in the last three months. It's not exactly a small project. Especially when the majority of work is being done by one person who also has his hands full with Views. What's crazy is people complaining that stuff they are getting for free isn't getting done fast enough.

merlinofchaos commentedFor those who think I am not working heavily on Panels, I apologize. I am not loudly jumping up and down and shouting "I'M WORKING" but I am, in fact, working.
Comment #6
bennos commented@michelle and merlinofchaos.
this was not a critism. just some facts. do not feel attacked.
@merlinofchaos
you should not jump. everyone here wants a good development. take the time you need.
me and the rest of the drupal users can only see the activity in the CVS, the issue queue or the groups. I have not known (until yet) that merlinofchaos is alone the developer of panels.
@michelle
I know that there are a lot of users, that are disappointed about the slow development of some modules. Drupal is OpenSource and everyone can help and make it better with providing support, testing or writing patches.
repeating:
do not feel attacked. your work is great. this was not a critism

michelle@bennos: It's hard not to feel attacked when people keep complaining about how long things are taking and say stuff like "this is crazy". I'd say 90% or more of the contributed modules have only one maintainer. And many of those maintainers have multiple projects. And a good number of them are being maintained on a volunteer basis.
Your initial question was fine. If you had just left it at that there would be no issue. Your follow-up, however, left a lot to be desired.
