As per the alpha 3 release notes -
THIS RELEASE DOES NOT CONTAIN AN UPGRADE PATH YET. beta1 *will*. If you want to use Panels 3 alpha, please start from scratch.
Does this mean the beta version will include an upgrade path from one or more of the previous alphas, or from any beta version?
Thanks,
Paul N.

vm commentedI believe it means an upgrade path from 2.x to 3.x rather than alphas to betas in 3.x

merlinofchaos commentedWhile I had meant to have an alpha to alpha upgrade path, I actually broke it, so hesitating on your part was wise. Right now alpha2 --> alpha3 doesn't work, but that's a bug.

pauln600 commentedDo I understand correctly that alpha4 fixes the problems with upgrading from alpha2? I tried it, no joy - the panels appear on the admin pages, no problem, but not
on the content pages...
Thanks,
Paul N.

merlinofchaos commentedDid you follow the directions in the release notes? I assume you did not since you didn't mention them.
pauln600 commentedYes I did, exactly as per http://drupal.org/node/421994

pauln600 commentedStrange thing is that the mini-panels appear normally in panels administration in general and in preview, but just don't show up on content pages.

esmerel commentedUpgrade paths are as complete as they're likely to get.
