Hi,
I am very happy with the core news aggregator (with the exception perhpas of the qoutes problem) but being a total newbie to news feeds I was wandering if there is any module which allows users to create their own search strings.

What I mean is this: I, as the administrator, I will supply the link to a particular news source (e.g. google news feeds) but users can then decide which search-words they wish to interrogate the sources by. So when a user logs in, he/she will get a menu link under the aggregator menu-link with her own choice of search words. This allows much flexibility where each member could get feeds based on their individual requirements.

Is such a thing exist?

You can build just about any kind of view that you want with Views. Views allows you to include a filter form for users as well. Some times this is not the most efficient technique, however. See this explanation for a module that you may wish to consider using.
