What is Views telling me?

Sometimes when modifying a view I get a whitescreen with the following message:

I than have to go back to the view screen and the change has been made. There is no entry in the watchdog.

Is this a problem? A symptom for anything I should worry about?

It would help if you mentioned the version. It would also help if you explained in more detail what you where doing just before the white screen of death, modifying a view covers a lot of ground.

I can remember to be modifying a filter (user:role) and once a fieldsetting. In both cases already existing settings very modified and not made for the first time. During the processing the error occurs. I have then to go manually back to the view administration and can see that the change took place and I can than save the view. Everything works fine from then and as I mentionend nothing in the watchdog.

Are you getting that error for that particular changes (as you mentioned) or its generic. Try some different combination and see if you are still getting an error.

Until now I did not receive such a message again. But funny things happen:

I got a similiar incident on my local machine with Panels 2. Just a white screen with a single line of some code or something. This time it seemed to be some ajax stuff but I forgot to copy this.
I noticed that this happened when I manipulated a lot of different things on my panel without saving between the steps. After this incident I had to do one step after another and everything just worked fine.

Possibly this was also the case with my views problem......

I ran two times into this issue and noticed that for in my first post I cut the line way to early. The lines cover for each incident about 3,5 word-pages. I am hesitant to copy those here but if anybody wants to take a look.....

However if I manually go back to the views admin screen (not by using the back-icon of the browser which is FF3 by the way) the change (e.g. another view style) is in the settings and I just have to save the view. Nothing in the watchdog again.

By the way I just upgraded to Views 2.4 so the version has nothing to do with it.

I cut it here because it goes on and on and on.

This is displayed as one line one a white screen. I rearanged the fields of a default view and clicked on the update button. When I go back onto the views admin screen (not via the browsers back-button) I can see that the changes are applied and I just have to save the view. No entries in watchdog.

What you're seeing is the ajax stuff that drupal sends in response to a click. What *should* happen is that your browser doesn't reload, but uses that stuff to alter the page.
I've no idea why it would do that though.

I am using Garland for admin and Aquia Marina for the front end. Of course that could be some jquery hickups from anywhere but I am not experienced enough to sort that out...

I am experiencing the same error with Drupal 6.10 and Views 6.x-2.5, this happens almost every time I try to change something on any view. I realized that after going back from the blank page with the error and refresh the view editing page, the change is actually done, so views are still working but with a lot pain.

No error logs reported. I am fiddling about deactivating panel modules, switching admin theme to garland, clearing cache but nothing yet. I have been days trying to figure out what is causing this error...

I just find out that if I am in subdomain, the problem will occur.

If I am in primary domain (say, www.example.com). When I edit Views, It works properly!!

It is totally random. It occurs mostly at the start of a session and after some problems it is gone and everything works fine again. Really annoying but luckily not constantly.

Its happened because of Jquery.
If I removed the Jquery then its working fine.

Can anyone find the solution by using Jquery along with Views.
