Description
Greetings!
I use geonames for some vital functions on my site. It accesses the geonames on node save to add region info to latitudes and longitudes.
The problem is that it times out a lot, so that the user waits and waits and...
when the node finally saves, it throws the timeout warnings at you, and user has to edit and save the node once more.
My question is this: will the timeouts be gone if I subscribe to the geonames database and get my own unique geonames domain?

Here's the warning I get:
warning: file_get_contents(http://ws.geonames.org/countrySubdivision?lng=16.003014&lat=68.416611&ap...) [function.file-get-contents]: failed to open stream: Connection timed out in /home/www/sites/all/modules/geonames/geonames.module on line 398.#2
Yes - if you purchase the services, you will most likely get rid of that problem. We use only the payed-for services, and have never experienced timeouts. It might be the servers timeout settings, but I doubt that very much. The free GeoNames services have been overloaded by iphone services lately, so purchasing a subscription will guarantee you the repsonse- and uptime you need.

I doubt it's the server settings, requests to other servers are working fine.
I will take this into consideration, and probably subscribe to the service.
After all, it's not much money for this fine piece of service.
Thanks for the reply by the way!
