Issue Summary
In the admin settings for User Mailman register, when 'display in own category is unselected' the subscription information is not shown in the user profile view page. It is shown on the edit form but I feel that the view page should also show this.

No, it should not.
The user profile view page is provided for (public and/or private) readonly info and not for customization forms so it's ok for me that mailman settings are not displayed there.
Or do you mean to display the subscriptions status also as a public readonly info in the profile page?

Sorry I missed your reply.
What I meant was that the user when viewing his profile should be able to view his own subscription information. He should not have to edit his profile to see the subscription information. Going to an edit form to view data is kind of awkward IMHO. The information does not have to be shown to other users who view this profile.

Moving as feature request. I don't consider it a bug because it was a design choice (i.e subscription module works in the same way).

Feature added and ready for the nightly build.
