A publisher would be awesome and definitely useful . Wouldn't be posssible to create something like the publisher with the formblock (http://drupal.org/project/formblock) and quick tabs (http://drupal.org/project/quicktabs)? Maybe with some nice styling this could be a drupal publisher. :)

I appreciate the enthusiasm! Making a publisher won't require integration with any modules I don't think, including the ones you suggested. In fact, the issues those modules address will be the least of my problems. The hardest part is going to be handling uploading. Right now I haven't looked into that and I'm hoping another developer will step up to help.

All of that said, 3.x is certainly awhile away. 2.x isn't even stable yet! And there will likely be a lull after 2.x development before 3.x development so any bugs in 2.x can be ironed out before my attention gets focused elsewhere. It will probably be a few months minimum before I even start planning for 3.x.

There is this developer (netrift / http://drupal.org/user/146467) who created a facebook clone. He seems very talented and he also created some sort of a publisher. Maybe you two could get in contact and see if you can come up with something.

He has repeatedly refused to contribute to existing projects, so while I can try, I doubt he will be interested.
