Help with menus with artisteer template.
I have a site that I made a template with artisteer. It is suppose to have a menu under the header, but it does not show on the site, or a block to add a menu there. I downloaded some other templates that I'm having the same problem with. If someone could please let me know what I need to do to fix this asap, I'd appreciate it. The site is at: http://www.motorcyclenation.net/site

Thanks,
Adam

Have you created you primary links here http://www.motorcyclenation.net/site/admin/build/menu? You have a #nav div in your theme, but it seems to be empty.

Hi
Had a look at your site - I am a newbie and just started looking at Artisteer. How did you resolve your issues ? Have you figured out if you can create page that has a different layout to the main page e.g. say home page was 3 columns but a sub page was 1 column - how would you do that

Cheers
Dave

Hi,

I would use panels/ctools/delegator for this.
Btw, artisteer 2.1 looks much more promissing. It is just released.

did you say 2.1 is out I just recently got artisteer and my version is 2.0.2 something. Does it work better with panels. The program has worked surprisingly well for me with the exception of panels. I can make panels look ok but they still don't work..

The question above though you can make multiple themes with artisteer and choose to display them accordingly. Artisteers block regions don't collapse when blocks are missing but that is a workaround. I assume summit is saying the same thing just using ctools to pick the theme?????

There are other ways but that works well.

Summit is correct the 2.1 version really fixes most the issues with regions and collapsible blocks.

and I believe that you are able to upgrade fro free from 2.0.2 to 2.1 if you have a legit copy :)

I also had the same problem with the Primary Navigation in the left side-bar, I could not get the Primary navigation to act properly. So the work around I had to use was to make a primary page and have child pages attached to that in order for the drop down primary navigation to work.

I would ideally like it to work without having to create a page with child nodes/pages. I did this workaround in the Menu section of Drupal and if I change the template design there will not be alot of "upheaval" and crankiness on my part.

here is my site: www.simplypowerball.com, if you notice the side bar buttons are there, however, when clicking on wheels, it will take you to the main page of wheels and THEN you see the individual child items.

I am not sure if this is a bug or Artisteer intended for these menus to work this way.

Any other workarounds or fixes is greatly appreciated.

Artisteer is a great tool and saved me alot of design time, I'm sure there are alot of others out there as well.

*** Utilizing Menus
---------------------------------------
Please use the following steps to utilize menu style designed with Artisteer:
1. Go to Drupal Administer -> Site Building -> Menus (www.YourSite.com/?q=admin/build/menu)
2. Edit an existing menu or create a new one.
3. Go to Drupal Administer -> Site Building -> Blocks (www.YourSite.com/?q=admin/build/block)
4. Place menu into the "Menu" region. (erlanvr IN THIS PART, WE ONLY DRAG AN DROP THE MENU LINK any name you put eg. PRIMARY LINK . NEW_MENU, etc., TO MENU BLOCK PART NAME)
NOTE: the "Menu" region can contain only a single menu, or none.

*** Customizing the Footer

I have same problem.

I have a Horizontal menu, the second menu item have sub menus.
When I made in the Artisteer everything look fine, when the cursor touch the menu button, the submenu opening.
Otherwise, in the real life. I have to click to the second menu item and after I can see the submenus.
On every other pages the submenus not visible.

If anybody can help me with this, I'll happy. Thank you.

/I think the Artisteer is a very good program, just need a liitle more time for developing. So many things isn't available, but you can make easy a foundation, and after the customization just a few hours. But sometimes when somebody not expert, like me, this is the really hard part. Because things, which very easy with a zen subtheme, so many work with a artisteer theme./

When they can customize the layout size I'll buy the standard edition, but not before.

You are Just four step away

click--> structure -> menu--->
click--> edit-->
select or tick on "Show as expanded" (in all menu level you desired)
click on save--> save config

Now you can see drop down menus on all pages

Thanks
