Is there an ongoing port to Drupal 6 of this module somewhere?
If not, I might port it reasonably soon. Please let me know.

By the way, I don't see the language mapping feature in the CVS of the module, the file urlify.js appear to be deleted.

No. I don't think I am going to update this to six. Pathauto is much more complete.
It seems the js file was never added to HEAD but it is there in the DRUPAL-5 branch.
