pahariwalla commented@moomba thanks for you patience. I've actually got a fix up on CVS for this problem (along with the bug where the friends list wasn't being automatically refreshed on timer #407582: Friends List doesn't seem to be updating on timer any more..
The problem is getting you the fixes easily. I have to wait for teh drupal webmasters to delete a "recommended for 6.x" release I made my mistake before I can update the development snapshot release with these fixes.
But, in the mean time, please follow the instructions on the project page ( http://drupal.org/project/im ) for how to get the latest.
Sorry for the hassle, I hope to get it cleared up this week. Let me know if you have any trouble getting the latest files and I will send you a tarball. If you prefer, I can send you a patch - but please let me know which release you have installed.
One day I will get this CVS stuff figured out.. Thanks for your support. I am interested in how many users are on your site and if it affects the server performance. I'm working on streamlining the messaging process because it currently bootstraps Drupal every second for each user when it checks for new messages. It's a little tricky, and is taking me longer than expected (mostly security stuff).
Can't wait till the webmasters clean up my CVS mess and we can do this properly.
Thanks again
Raj

EDIT----
Can you send the tar file. Its still refreshing on me.
Thanks
EDIT------
Seems to be working now that I updated user relationships. Will monitor it and keep you posted. Thanks for your work with this nice module. Once all the kinks are worked out its going to be a nice benefit to sites.

pahariwalla commentedI take it that it's all OK now... the CVS guys did there thing and the fix should be in the current dev snapshot.
