Configure site to have the filter block on the news page.

This exists in the drupalorg_news.module. You need to turn it on and have the proper taxonomy terms for the new items (as it is live on drupal.org). Also, we had a consensus not to name this "Filter your search", since people are just browsing news while they are looking at the page, not doing any search whatsoever. This was probably a titling oversite from MBD.

actually there is the filter block the the news pages, apart from Planet. We need some block here to keep a consistent line length. Filter by tag?

Have updated association link to go to it's news page directly, and changed description slightly
