Timeline feed format

Would it be possible to add a Timeline JSON style feed in addition to the Exhibit JSON? I've run into this situation a couple of times. The primary reasons for this:

1) I have an Exhibit and I'm customizing the Timeline view using the timelineConstructor. Unfortunately, adding data in timeline bands directly requires a timeline formatted feed, not an exhibit feed.

2) The current Timeline Drupal module supports the much older 1.x of Timeline. The 2.x releases of Timeline are strongly encouraged to be used by the SIMILE group. Maybe this Exhibit module can create the Timeline 2.x feeds while the future of the Timeline module is being decided.

The first reason could possibly be overcome with a decent amount of javascript coding by parsing out an exhibit feed
and creating a new timeline feed manually. Even is this is possible, just seems like a lot of unnecessary and redundant work that this module can solve.
