Is there any way to prevent this from happening so there is no code at all in the text areas initially? (On thing such as new comments, etc.)

AppleBag commentedAnyone know where to edit this in the code? There are a hundred files in this module.
wwalc commentedUpgrade to 5.x-2.2, clear browser's cache.
wwalc commentedBtw. it seems that it is a duplicate of #372150: break tag shows up in empty Body field after saving. If you're still experiencing this issue in the latest version of FCKeditor module, feel free to reopen this ticket.
AppleBag commentedI've just upgraded my entire FCKEditor, to module 5.x-2.2 and Editor version 2.6.4, including using the patch mentioned on this page: http://dev.fckeditor.net/attachment/ticket/2522/2522.patch (tried both before the patch and after, clearing browser cache and site cache before each try) and still having an initial
added upon page load.
Whichever Enter Mode I set it to, is what shows up in the text area. The fresh page loads, fckeditor finishes loading, then i click the source button, or the Switch to plain text editor link, and it always shows the
sitting there in the empty text area.
Any ideas?
Thanks.
