When every times I attached my jpg file(files) on, it will not shown from the link, and totally there is no link presented at all. How come this could be happen?

I'm running "Drupal 4.5.7" on my home machine.

I noticed that every file I attached to drupal, it will becoming a txt at last. How come?

for eg:

the file I attached is "mypic.jpg"

after the attaching process, it will shown the result like this

===================
mypic.jpg.txt 3.63KB

can somebody help me to solve this out?

I had a similar problem with other file types appearing with a .txt suffice (specifically QuickTime .mov extensions)

I checked this setting to add the suffix and it fixed the problem:

Administer > Settings > Uploads

Make sure that jpg is in the list of permitted file extensions for the specific user role

hopefully it's something that simple

I checked, and i've seen jpg and even jpeg format is included ... so i just can't figure it out about what can i do anymore ... :(

I've the same issue while uploading files to node ...

I've had this problem numerous times with different file types. I'm sure it's a very common problem. Does anybody have an explination for this phenomenon?
