Why don't div styles don't apply past first page?

I'm using a style tag in my book page. In edit mode, the tags apply successfully to all the content. When I save it and the content is broken into pages, the styles only "survive" on the first page. They are lost on all the subsequent pages.
Any help?

In general sense, this is not possible. You'll have to define the tags for each page.
