After studying the styleguide linked at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vancouver_system I come to the conclusion that article titles may not be surrounded by quotes in Vancouver style and I don't see quotes on PubMed and the examples I have seen so far.

I have searched the issue queue and did nout find anybody complaining about that. It would be great if someone else can look up that issue in the official sources to decide if it's actually a bug in the Vancouver style output or not.

Indeed you are correct, I suspect that was probably a cut-n-paste error and not intentional. That style is fairly new so I guess you get the prize for noticing it first :-)

It will be rectified in the next release.
