Greetings, from a newbie and novice ;-)

I installed 6.4.3 and had it working fine - but having read of the need to upgrade, I htought to do so immediately before adding content. So, downloaded 465 and then have spent the lsat few hours uploading ... and now get this message:

Warning: mysql_connect(): Access denied for user 'username'@'localhost' (using password: YES) in /home/irmstrat/public_html/includes/database.mysql.inc on line 31
Access denied for user 'username'@'localhost' (using password: YES)

My host is bluehost.com which provides the 463 download as an auto-install, but does not provide support after that point. So, I have probably gfallen between their installation and my uploading ... any assistance would be much appreciated. It should be a simple fix (I hope) but I do not find the referenced text in the identified file.

Heavy sigh.

your previous install
if you did check that

check the following file
Drupal-4.6.3/sites/default/settings.php

all info in this file should be the same as in your new install
regarding mysql login and authentication
