MikeLee_Birdy commentedDear Sir:
It's a great idea to have such module. I do think that make it separate will let both modules better development (because I don't use CCK and view too much....).
Thanks for this great contribution.

dbt102 commentedThere seems to be a dead zone in the development of d7 Fields and Views capabilities for Bible Related projects.
Two modules have tried to pick up the slack and introduce their own solutions. The Bible Reference module has been untouched for over a year with no port to d7 attempted. The Bible Field module port to d7 has taken a divergent path from the Bible module, and if completed, will have less feature that the Bible module, and require a second set of bible texts to be imported, using a different format. I believe it has lost its focus by trying to make it applicable to ALL books.
We need to get together and figure out how to implement d7 fields and standard Views functionality for the Bible module. The Bible Field module has done a good job defining what the fields could/should look like and how they could/should interact with the Bible. However, it should reference the .bc & .sn files as loaded into the db, using the same format.
I am more than willing to help with this effort, its just that my Drupal skills are one step below "Theme and module development" (as per Drupal Learning Curve).
The Bible module has a strong user base with d7 users about to exceed d6. With the development of such profiles as OpenChurch we can further enhance our position in embedding God's Word for use at a the local church level, which can then easily be utilized for instruction and teaching at the local user level. God intended his word to be read, understood and applied by this local user in the community defined by the local church. Implementing views and cck into Bible module is a must have, and should be taken on with firm conviction to better facilitate it widespread use. We need to do this...
