The modules share similar functions and cause the vertical tabs module to cease working.

I don't know off the top of my head, but I can check it out. I have been tinkering with the module a bit this week. I will generate an update this week for you. Maybe a fix... :)

Same here. I'm not seeing any JS warnings or errors thrown, the select list just isn't getting affected.

the latest dev. version of vertical tabs works now!
note - also applied patch from #21 #510012: Not compatible with Jquery Update -- Breaks node edit page!
