Secondary menu item

Imagemenu seems to work well for primary menu items. I can create secondary menu items (items that are branches of the primary) and am able to expand the primary when clicking it. However when I click/select a secondary menu item, the correct content page gets displayed by the secondary menu item list is collapsed to the primary. Is this a configuration issue or a bug?
