Hi,

It may be a really stupid question, but in all screenshots of this theme I can see area on the right of the main banner/logo that has menu/links. I thought there is a region there to put a menu, but it's not. So how can this be done?

These links would fall under your "Primary Menu" links. Try creating a new menu item and placing it in the Primary Menu, it should work for you.
