Issue Summary
I am doing a church podcast, and they wish that the pubDate reflect the date of the service, not the date (sometime weeks later) that they make it to the web. Any plans on custom field overrides?

May I broaden this a little? I should think it would be a common need to customize not only the pubDate, but the summary and perhaps even the author and other elements. I need to customize the pubDate and summary on a current project. +1 for this feature.

This is a great idea. It will happen either via a hook (#362082: Patch that fixes a couple typos and introduces two hooks) or in the template (#520122: Add row style template (tpl.php)). I agree that custom dates and information are sometimes needed. Great observation. Those two issues are where it will be implemented.

I would like to see this as well.
