I want to customize the GMap output from Views to centre on a location based on a taxonomy term argument.
I actually have this working now by modifying the macro parameter for the GMap style plug-in in the argument handling code, but was wondering if there was a standard way to do this.

jrb207 commentedI'm also curious to know if the standards have changed but most of the documentation I've found indicates that using the method you described is best practice.
Unfortunately for me I'm not able to get this to work within Drupal 5. Here's my recent post and a thread discussing applying the macro parameter to a view (http://drupal.org/node/74920). You might find more information or discussion to help with your question.
