Can someone port this to drup 6?

This module doesn't get much love, and it appears that lyle and the rest of the gang are not going to be continuing this module into D6. Instead, there are other (probably better) ways to do this, such as custom CCK fields, taxonomy, and views.

It would be really nice to get some kind of how-to for this exact functionality though.
