block throws sql error on all roles but administrators

I've experienced that taxonomy blocks only worked for administrator users, and threw an sql error on all other users. I've traced the problem down to line 241 in taxonomy_block.module. By removing the db_rewrite_sql function call, the module now appears to work perfect (passing the sql statement directly to the db_query function). I do not really know the consequenses of removing that function call, however... Tested on drupal 4.7 beta 2.
