No db update during upgrade from workflow 5.x-2.2 to rules 6.x-1.0-beta5

Hi

I tried to upgrade workflow 5.x-2.2 to rules 6.x-1.0-beta5. Running update.php resulted in no database updates - it simply told me, all is up to date. Furthermore (and I trink because of the missing db update), no old workflow-ng rules were available in rules.

Why does Drupal not automatically choose the right update version for rules? Should I choose and run an update version manually?
