Hi
I know I'm not the first to ask about this. To move the site from local host to a webserver, am I right in thinking that I just pick up the contents of htdocs on localhost and dump them into htdocs on my webserver? I've read that I need to export/import the DB too but I haven't got a Scooby how to do that. I have no technical knowledge whatsoever BTW.
Hope you can help
Luke

what I do
turn off clean urls
clear cache tables, watchdog table and sessions table in database
export the database
import the database on godaddy
move files and folders
login to site as 1st created user
reenable clean urls
test site
exporting of the database can be done using phpmyadmin and the export tab. Check out one or more of the upgrading drupal videocasts for some visual aid. There are also modules that help in this. Investigate the backup migrate.module
