I was wondering how this module is different than the http://drupal.org/project/wordpress_import ?

Could you provide that in the documentation or module explanation? What does this module offer that the other doesn't?

awesome. thanks. that is very useful. WP2D would save time with users as the wordpress xml export doesn't include user email addresses. the content type control is also very appealing. congrats again.

So I suppose this module couldn't be used to import from Wordpress.com or I would have to import to an independant WP install and then import to Drupal, perhaps?

libre fan: This module only works if you have direct access to the database (either remotely or locally), if you can't do that then you need to use Wordpress Import.
