I would like users to automatically earn badges depending on there post count.

Could someone point me in the right direction on how i might implement this into the module? if i can get it working id be happy to share it with everyone.

For D6, I can tell you that what you want is the Rules module, but for D5 I believe it is called workflow-ng.
