Confuesed about date and schedule

Great module thanks for the contribution.

I am a little confused. I did get a message that I need to enable the date module.
Now I have two fields for dates in the content type to specify the start and end date for subscription.
What is the difference when submitting that note. As i understand that are the same. Both define the start and end dat for subscription.
In this scenario I have right now I have also 2 dates in the frontend as :

Signup schedule: Signups open from 1 May, 2009 - 00:00 to 31 October, 2009 - 00:00
and

Entry dates: Friday, 1 May, 2009 (All day) - Saturday, 31 October, 2009 (All day)

Am I missing something how this should be handled. I hope you can clarify.
