After creating the tellafriend page, viewing the node shows the Message Subject and Message Content fields are blank - Message Content shows "n/a". I have tried configuring both with and without HTML, have made sure the message content field is editable, and have also excluded FCKeditor from all fields and still nothing.

Also the Plaxo address import button is missing (was working in the previous version)

Did you run update.php after upgrading?

I think I've fixed this problem. I had named two columns incorrectly in hook_insert, which was causing the insert query to fail.

The new beta version, beta 2, is now available.

I updated to Beta2, but it is still the same - no message content or subject showing when you view the node. I have tried it with and without using the HTML mode, and tried both with plain text content and with full html content. Also still not showing the Plaxo import icon.
