Come together with the global Drupal community in Rotterdam, 28 Sept – 1 Oct 2026. Sessions, contribution, connection, and Early Bird savings until 8 June.
Maybe they don't even proceed with that request. The module doesn't seem to have much movement, so maybe you could contact them, and maybe the other author could transfer the ownership of the project if you're willing to maintain it, improve it, porting it to D6 and up, or whatever.
IIRC, there's a protocol for these matters described in the handbooks. hmm... here it is: http://drupal.org/node/251466

develcuy commentedJust noticed I have not been subscribed to this issue queue! Thanks for the notice.
I'm sure that I had a very good explanation for this duplication, let me review it (I'm overwhelmed of work right now).
Blessings!

develcuy commentedPlease take a look at: #117116: jQuery complete version,
They talk about jQuery reimplementation of firebug_lite... I agree with @Bevan about that is silly!
The purpose of my implementation is to get Firebug Lite working "as is", with just minor and unnoticeable changes.
Anyhow, thanks for your report, but I need your confirmation for closing this task :)
Blessings!

I'm fine whatever you do. ;-)

develcuy commentedOk :)
develcuy commentedI have requested merge at #446810: Merge with Firebug Lite module
Comment #6
develcuy commented@Steve McKenzie, author of firebug.module, given me permissions to do whatever I want.
I don't know if I should drop firebug.module or firebug_lite.module instead. What do you thing?
Blessings!

markus_petrux commentedMaybe you can find a hint in the handbooks, here: http://drupal.org/node/7765
I just checked now and could not find the place that explains how to tell a module is abandoned. Maybe this book page?
http://drupal.org/node/251466
I would open an issue to the webmasters queue, as I believe they keep a list of abandoned projects. I just don't remember where it is.
Another thing that could be done, maybe, is ask the other author to edit his/her project page and add a link to yours.
As per the module name that could remain in the Drupal repository, probably "firebug lite" fits the purpose better, I think. ;-)

markus_petrux commentedAh, found it. There's a special user they use to assign abandoned module to:
http://drupal.org/user/291168
I hope that helps.
develcuy commentedYes, "Firebug Lite" fits better, I have added a link from the other module to this one. And filled an issue: #472538: This project is discontinued.
Blessings!
vm commentedfixed. Project firebug given to the abandoned modules user.
