Did you try to change
Did you try to change anything in page.tpl.php file or index.php file or any file. If yes then look for the extra character "<" in the file that you were editing.

Did change myself
I didn't change anything there myself but I look at the file and they are time stamped early this morning. I was not making any changes early thing morning. I think the file was compromised by some sort of hack. Problem is I just checked and I don't currently have a back up due to a local hard drive failure. Is there a way to restore the file?
Download the theme which you
Download the theme which you are using. Now just change the page.tpl.php file from new pack to your website. Also go to user list and see if there is any unwanted user. Change user settings so that only admin can create account. From few days even i am getting wired users which are getting registered without my approval. And if that the case use CAPTCHA or Mollom module
