disabling facebook included fields does not disable fields on profiles which have already imported the field

So I just added the fbconnect module (great little module - thanks!) and after enabling all the facebook fields and linking it to my user account on the site I decided that some of the fields were redundant and disabled the facebook entrys.
Issue: Still, these fields now remain in my user account though they are disabled with the module.
