Here are the Blue Lagoon Images. I used PNGGauntlet to reduces all images by 32% overall with 0 reduction of quality. I checked these files in ImageReady with a 500% zoom.
The topic*.png and the user-*.png files did not compress and are not included in the zip! However I have not been able to review all images on a site that uses them. I dont use allot of these images!
If these work flawlessly, I will try to do the others,,, Please test in all browsers (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Opera and Safari)

michelleBumping to 2.x. I don't have time to give these a good test now and don't want to make untested changes in a stable version.

MGParisi commentedI have them running on my development 6 site, I don't want to give out the URL in public because I don't want it indexed by Google.
They test good, though more testing would be appreciated... I would love to see the community get involved here!
I also need people to try and load the images in Photoshop cs3 and prior. PNGGauntlet converts these images to another type of PNG. It is reported to work in all browsers, but not in some versions of Photoshop. I added a program to help export and read these png's within Photoshop cs2, so I can not attest to their ability to be added via any other photo editor.
I know some versions will not support this. These images are supported by all valid browsers (IE 6.0 w/ pngfix for transparency, Opera, Safari, and Firefox 3 though I am assured that they work in Firefox 2).
I will try to rally the community to do some testing!
Michelle as far as if/when you want to deploy that is up to you :) However if testing is successful I can do the other styles. I will post the results I find!
P.S. I am using these on another server too, but I can not share the location of this server due to a few reasons!

NeoID commentedHow do you override the images without replacing them?
I've tried to follow this (Imgaes-section): http://drupal.org/node/234042 but it didn't print anything as mentioned...

MGParisi commentedThats another issue, but the package does not contain ALL of the images of the Blue Lagoon. It contains the images that only were able to be reduced in size without effecting quality. I simply cut and paste the images into the blue lagoon directory, though advanced forums settings has a text box that will allow you to set the directory of the images.

MGParisi commentedGreat! I am getting married, and have been VERY busy! I will TRY to get to the other images, but I may not have time. Try http://brh.numbera.com/software/pnggauntlet/ Its free, and there have been no effect on any images. At the time I originally posted this, some PNG's lost their transparencies. This was NOT the case with your images, and maybe fixed with a newer version! I am sure it will run through the other images, optimize what it shows and will display correctly.
There is no reduction in quality with this program. It simply optimizes the PNG using the pre-existing standard, that Adobe Photoshop => CS3 does not do. I am not sure Adobe Photoshop CS4 fixes this! I know that if it can not improve the size of the file it will not delete the original (smaller) image! Have fun optimizing your site!

michelleNo worries. I actually am hoping I can get a graphics designer to do a new set and put them together using sprites rather than individual images, anyway. I committed these since you had gone thru the trouble of making them but I hope to get them all replaced at some point so I wouldn't worry about doing the rest.
Thanks,
Michelle
