About the Site
EconomicsPost is for learning, sharing, and thinking about economics. We have released the beta version of the site, with all of the core functionality operational. At first the site was going to be a simple economics blog, but the vision shifted during development. Now work is being done to accommodate extra sections, including a LSAT guide, and featured Graduate Schools with student reviews. This work is not yet complete however.
The Module Breakdown
Like any Drupal site, it is built mostly with CCK, Views, and Templates. Additionally context was used to give control over what sidebar blocks show on which pages. Also Amazon is used to handle suggested books, and MarkDown to improve post formatting. A few other utility modules were used to achieve various effects.
Custom Modules and Theme
The theme is based on the amadou theme, and was released back into the community http://drupal.org/project/zilo_blog
Also to enhance the node edit/add form, I built the Form Tooltips module http://drupal.org/project/form_tooltips
Whats Next
There are currently only regular two writers for the blog, and myself occasionally. We are looking to expand authorship, readership, and features, steadily over the next 6 months. Stay tuned :)
