Issue Summary
The setting "Visible on select box + popup" doesn't seem to work correctly.
I expected the simleys to appear on both places.

Can you double check your smileys' visibility settings?

Just double checked it with another drupal instance. Smileys which are marked as "Visible on select box + popup" are not shown within popup window.
