San Francisco Drupal User Group a success
The Drupal meetup last night was a huge success. At least 36 people attended at the new CivicSpace Labs/GoodStorm offices on the San Francisco Bay. Many people showed up looking to meet someone who actually knew what Drupal was. Others just wanted to let out their pent up Drupalness. About one quarter of the attendees are coming to Vancouver. Kaliya Hamlin facilitated the session for 3 hours and helped us break up into several groups: community, media, politics, corporate, and business services.
Matt from WordPress showed up to learn best practices from the Drupal community and shared some insights from WordPress. Daniel Sternberg from SpikeSource showed up and indicated that Drupal was a leading contender as a enterprise content management system. A presentation regarding forming a Drupal Guild was made on behalf of Gregory Heller from CivicActions.
Adrian Freed is going to host the next Bay Area Drupal meeting at Berkeley in February. In the meantime many people will be showing up on IRC and the Drupal documentation team excited to contribute to Drupal.

Great job
Once again, great job Kieran (CivicSpace)! What is the 'Drupal Guild'? Will Gregory be in Vancouver to present this or?
Kaliya Rocks
In my opinion, Kaliya deserves mucho credit for this great event.
Here are the preliminary notes from the meeting.
Here are a few photos that I took.
Drupal Guild is an idea that was talked around a bit in Amsterdam and Gregory Heller took the initative to write up some notes, open up the concept, and will create a space for a conversation around this at Vancouver.
I wish I could have made it
I wish I could have made it, things got crazy at work at the last minute and I couldn't get away. Any chance that the date, time and location for the Feb meeting can be published a little further in advance for the Berkeley meeting?
Also, is there a Bay Area Drupal mailing list or anything? Would it be a good idea to create one?

Schedule for the next BayArea meeting
Dries, has encouraged to communicate more through the Drupal home page so we will advertise here to get the widest audience possible.
More notice....
Please provide a little more notice...I've been waiting for one to come up.
We should create a maillist, so someone like myself who only has time to check email regularly won't miss the meetings.
Glad to hear it was a success and I wish I could have been there.
